St. Michael Parish Religious Education Program
The winter months seem to be passing pretty quickly. January is nearly over and February brings a few activities to help warm our hearts ...
Next Sunday, February 5, is "SUPER BOWL SUNDAY". Our 6th Grade Class with the help of their .Catechist, Dorothy Singer are organizing a "Souper Bowl" project to collect canned SOUP for the food pantry at St. Mary's. Please join in on this effort to help feed the needy of our area.
On February 19th the adults of St. Michael's are invited to gather together for our annual Adult Dinner. It is always such a tasty and fun evening to spend together in appreciation of our parish and its terrific members who make it so special!
February 19, is the Rite of Inscription for 1st Communion candidates during the Children's Liturgy. February 19 is also the date for the PRE Family Bowling Party. It will be from 1-3p.m. at the Holiday Lanes in Defiance. Students will be bringing home a flier with more information soon about this fun activity for the entire family.
TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) is about getting in touch with God in a peaceful environment with no expectations or distractions. Not only is TEC about faith, it's also about having fun and getting to know other youth and adults from all around the Toledo Diocese. High school juniors and seniors, and those who have graduated from high school within 'the past year, are eligible to make TEC. Contact Chris Newton (428-4585) if interested in attending. A special blessing of the Confirmation Class and a Bible dedication will be held on September 25, during the 8:30 am Mass. All students in the Confirmation Preparation class are asked to be present. We are also requesting that parents and students both attend the 1st Confirmation class on September 25. This class will provide an informational outline of the 2 year Confirmation preparation process. ________________________________________________________

Youth Group Coordinators – Barb Weber, Tim & Tammie Rettig. All incoming 7th graders through seniors are invited to be a part of our youth group. Group members held a kick off for the year with a cookout and campfire, on Saturday, August 27.
CHILDREN’S LITURGIES will be on October16, November 20, January 22, February 19 and March 18. On these Sundays, the young people of our parish serve as lectors, ushers, and gift-bearers. Children in grades 1 through 6 sit in the front pews near the organ and lead the singing. In order to prepare for this, all students in grades 1 through 6 are asked to gather in the front of Church IMMEDIATELY after Mass each Sunday for a brief singing practice.
PLEASE NOTE: Grades 1-6 will be dismissed from school at 10:45. If the parking area in front of school is full and you need to park out across the road, please meet your child at the front steps or sidewalk, rather than have the children go between parked cars into an open traffic lane. Thank you for your continued support in keeping the children’s safety as a top priority.
We received a donation of several board games, called “Divinity”, which is a New Catechism learning system, based on the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. These were generously donated to us by a group called “The Apostolate for Family Consecration”. I think these games will prove to be a fun and stimulating learning resource. Each classroom/ learning area will have one of these games for their use.

TUITION for Religious Education classes is $20.00 per student for the year (for up to three in the same family – the fourth child or more are free).
